Okay so me and Jess just shared a special moment together! She was getting an extra special mummy hug as I think we are cutting teeth and she was a bit girny. I had her cradled but she was a bit uncomfy so I lifted her up to her favourite spot. Her wee head found the perfect spot to snuggle into, thumb in mouth and sucking away. She then decided to have a very musical, long release of wind. Right on my hand. There was then the pause and then another wee bit. Well I had a wee chuckle to myself and the next thing I knew she had joined in!!
It was so funny, she didn’t lift her head or move her thumb or try to interact in any way. She just giggled, like she knew it was a funny thing she had done. And then the next ten minutes was a circle of giggles, you know when on person sets another off, and just when you think you’ve got yours under control the other person sets you off again and go repeat!!! And all through this she didn’t lift her head. She knew, I swear she knew!!!
I love that we find farting funny. I love that my daughter and I can share moments like these and laugh about them. I love life with Jess!! (My six year old boy in disguise) hahaha
Well tonight is a huge night for Scotland. We were at the polls tonight to answer the question – Should Scotland be an independant country? I voted YES as I believe we should. I believe this for many many reasons and have felt this way for years. This is no secret. Mostly I voted Yes for Jessica. I am not happy with the way this country has been heading and we are just not enough to make a change at a general election. This is the only way we can make a change that will benefit jessicas future.
I am sitting right now waiting on the first result coming in. My nieces are with me, both sound asleep. I might wake them up to hear the first few results then put them to bed. i thought it would be nice to have company. It has been an amazing time in Scotland over the past few weeks. No matter what the outcome in the morning I do think there is a change in the air, change is a-coming. How that change will happen I do not know. Jessica has been wearing her Scotland outfits and flying the flags. I am so nervous.
Well it has happened. Jessica can officially walk all on her own. Its amazing and wonderful and super scary!!! It happened on 6th September at around 12.10pm. We were just playing and she took three steps. I was almost in tears, laughing and hugging her, I had to phone my mum to tell someone. She has been doing the same since then, a few wee steps at a time. I can’t believe how amazingly smart she is. She susses things out now. She can play peek-a-boo with me round her cot whilst getting dressed, she put her arms up when taking tops off and slowly shifts her own weight if standing when taking trousers off. I didn’t teach her these things, she just knows to do them. She also has already starting working out that when i hide her teddy bear behind my back, she can keek round and find it.
She was such a good girl at the weekend, I had a visit from my life long friend who i hadn’t seen in at least ten years, and Jess was as good as gold. I am so lucky that even with everything that is going on and had gone on with me I have managed to foster an amazing bond between us two. Yes: I’d love to have someone there just for me but I’m happy with Jessica. Its like she was always destined to belong to only me, at times I think there is no room between us for anyone else.
So now she has to perfect her wee walk in time for Gran and Pops coming home from their wee trip up north. she was walking with her big cousin tonight and her uncle. I wonder if I bought her first shoes just in time. 🙂
I’ve been noticing and taking note of all the big developments in Jessica’s wee life and I thought i had them all then today i realised i’ve missed some. Like how she can go from lying, to sitting, to crawling, to standing, to walking, to sitting, to lying again. When did she master this? slowly and surely day by day and then BAM she’s got it, and I didn’t even notice. I wonder how many other little things she’s just got and it takes me a few days to notice. She can say ‘teddy’ I’ve no idea where she got this as her teddy is called Becky and is a bunny, but yeah she looks at teddy bears and says teddy. Doggie is still her favourite word. Still only got two teeth but can master corn on the cob.
